    Specialty Sports Socks, LLC was started in 1993 by Bobby Smith. Bobby is a retired computer programmer from the Aberdeen Proving Grounds who found enjoyment on the golf courses of the south. This passion for golf led to the idea of supplying golf courses with a logo’d sock that could be sold in the pro shop or used as a tee package gift. Once breaking into the market and selling hundreds of dozens to area golf courses, Specialty Sports Socks started manufacturing logo’d socks for the corporate sponsors of golf , tennis and running events. These early sponsor socks created industry awareness that a sock is as good a place as any for a logo. Event participants receive numerous shirts and other trinkets. Logo’d socks are different, functional and useful. Everybody needs socks! Today, Specialty Sports Socks, LLC has the in house capacity to knit 2,500 dozen per week.

    Our knitting facility is vertical in that we knit, finish and ship all under one roof. Some mills have to transport goods to bleach houses or finishing mills. With this you risk uncertain time delays, lost or damaged goods and have increased costs. At Specialty Sports Socks, LLC, when we start production, it is seamed, bleached, finished and packaged all in the same location. Our production does not leave the building until it is complete.
